Already moved my reservations. I hope that since we have made the move, that we will be visiting the Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon since we won't make the one in St James. Don't know why, but I can't get on the BTW website tonight..

This letter is being put on the forum, emailed to all Directors and mailed to all our members.
Firstly, Micki is no longer in the BTW office. Please welcome Donna who will start 3/31/08.
Secondly, TRIKE WEEK has been moved due to the fact that the campground in Rolla has been totally destroyed by the recent flooding. Not a building is standing and the river changed course right through the camp and dumped a gazillion tons of river rock all over it. After trying desperately to find alternatives in the Rolla area and without any luck, we tried to go back to Shoals Bend in Forsyth but they could not accommodate us on such short notice. Rather than totally cancel TW, we made a last ditch effort and the clouds cleared and the sun shone and we have found you a beautiful campground in BRANSON, MISSOURI. Someone was watching over us because the only week they had open all summer was the exact week we needed and this is a top-notch facility big enough to accommodate all of us. Everyone that was reserved at Arlington River Resort has been cancelled. They will refund any money that anyone has already paid. Anyone in hotels must do their own cancellations and anyone who had a camping reservation must call the new campground immediately as it will be first come first serve.
The campground is America`s Best Campground (ABC), on the outskirts of Branson so you are able to avoid all the Branson traffic if you wish. The address is 499 Buena Vista Rd - Check out their lovely web site (abc-branson.com) It will show you all the amenities - pool, hot tub, lounge, gift store, motor home/trike washing station, pets on leashes, huge laundry mat, all sites have tables and BBQ`s and can accommodate up to 70+ feet, free internet access, WIFI, playground, handicap bathrooms, etc.
Directions: Follow Hwy signs from Hwy 65 - exit on Shepherd of the Hills/248. Pass K-Mart, stay in right lane. Veer right at "Y" just pass KFC and stay on 248. Go through next light passing Tri-Lakes Center on left. ½ mile past Tri-Lakes follow signs and turn left on Buena Vista Road. Call Michelle at 800-671-4399 and say you are with BTW for group rates.
They require a 1 day deposit up front - non refundable except for medical or breakdowns
Tents - $20/day for 2, $30/day for 2 tents (4 people) on one site ($15/couple)
$10 for tent on a motor home site shared with a motor home - can`t be on the grass
Motor homes - full hookups $26/day for 2 - 3rd person $3.50/night
Pop Ups on full hookups - $26/day - 2 pop ups on a site - $39/day ($19.50/couple)
3 cabins left - full bed & twin bunks - $34 for 4 people - no pets/smoking in cabins
Motel -up the road - Branson Towers - (800-683-1122) $59 - say you`re at ABC event for discount. (Indoor pool, restaurant with seafood buffet, gift shop, Jacuzzi rooms, many amenities)
Other motels - Branson has 50 yellow pages of hotels - ask for one near the campground.
We will have an air-conditioned room for our banquet, band, store and all events. We will still have the trike show, games, and most other activities. Our Rolla agenda has been scraped and we are frantically putting together a new schedule for you but with Branson as your background, there is a lot to do. There are no campground fees other than your camping. If you are pre-registered with us, your registration stands and your package will be waiting for you. We are still requiring the $5/person registration fee ($10 at gate) to help pay for the entertainment and facility rentals. If you do not want to attend, let us know by May
1st and we will refund your money.
We are so sorry to make you change plans but the flood was beyond our control. We have made every possible effort to avoid canceling the event and we are confident you will be very happy with this new location. They are very anxious to please us and, although it will be entirely different than the Rolla event, it will be ever as much fun and rewarding. We are re-doing shirts and year bars to say "Branson" instead of "Rolla" as well.
