We had a wonderful turnout to assist with the "Least of These" campaign. A big thanks goes to Linda and Al for putting this together, and to Hotrod, Gene and Garnet, Bud Kirkland, Duane and Robin Kennedy, Dizzy Dean, my wife Sherryl and myself. We collected just under $600 cash and about $700 worth of groceries, plus many big bags of clothing. It was a huge success. Least of These officials want us to return monday so they can have pictures taken with the checks and merchandise being turned over to them.
So far today we have collected over $300 and have 2 baskets of groceries and a promise from a lot of folks for more tomorrow. We still have about 3 hours left today...
i cant be there befiore 2:30..my nurse comes this morning and then i have to run at 1..it will be done at 2 and then i will be on m wat..i can do the 2:00 iv in the car
We are setting the tables up at 8 a.m., Al, Linda, Sherryl and I will run them the first couple of hours and then we will need some relief. I hope some show up.. Please..
I will be there Saturday morning....called Linda and she hasn't gotten many calls for volunteers....thinks she'll be the only one for 15 hrs....If you can go please call her so she won't think everyone forgot her......also she would like it if you can ride a trike.....she would like to have the community see that trikers are there to help when needed. She said that AL's trike is running and it will be there.....I'll also bring some cd's with the pictures from last week end if you'll let me know that you want one I'll only take that many with me. i camt come friday til the afternoon as the nurse comes in the morning and thrn i need the machine here for my iv..i can leave here at 2 and come..Duane and i can come saturday morning but then have to leave by 11 for my iv
We will be sitting up at the Nixa Wal Mart friday and saturday. We will have tables set up to collect whatever is donated to the least of these both days. All folks that can volunteer will be greatly appreciated. We will probably start about 8 A.M. friday and go until about 5 P.M. (Rough estimate) It would be nice to have some trikes to park around for folks to see.
