Linda is in room 3267 at St Johns Hospital. She learned today that she has blood clots in her legs, so they are having to put a screen in her system to keep them from going to her lungs.. That is what happened to my wife Sherryl's mom. She had a blood clot catch in her lung and it put her into a coma from which she never came out.
We were about half way through our trike in ride, when Al came around a corner and hit loose gravel. His rearend slid off the pavement and he lost control and went through a yard. In the middle of this yard was a flower garden with a lot of rocks. Linda fell from the trike and landed in the rocks and it gave her 2 compound fractures. One in her knee and one in the lower leg. She also has a fractured disc in her back that will require a brace to be worn. Al's trike continued over the rock garden, through a fence, over a small cedar tree and rolled over at the end. He ended up with badly bruised ribs. It put quite a damper on what was a wonderful day.. All in all the trike in was a real success, and I want to take the time to thank all those responsible that made it come off so smooth. I have to say, Sherry is a fine director, and takes care of business in a business manner without hesitation. I admire her for that resolve.. I trust all is well with you two. Been a long time since I have seen you. I saw Duane one weekend riding south on 160 access road heading for the Bike/Trike show at the roadhouse. I didn't know until later that that was what was going on.. Hope you all can come out soon to play.. see ya's. Oh yeah, I applaud Jim for trying to get my attention as I was dragging the handlebars off my wife's little trike.. ha ha I had tunnel vision and just kept on keeping on until it was too late. Thanks again Jim and Lady and to Paw and Maw also. You all make it fun to be part of the family...

OK, we can update the count, make that 42 people attending the trike meet and at least 4 more trikes that did not make the run so we did get about 18 trikes (subject to further correction) . Linda is in surgery this morning and we will report updates as we get them such as her room number when they get her in in her room, she will be in recovery after the surgery. We Pray all goes well in there.
Had a wonderful time and will be sending pics to any one that wants them. Paw will be getting them first. Praying for Linda and Al they are such a good couple and she is very lively. Keep us posted on how she is doing. Thanks to Rick and Diane for being there until Al could get there and to Jim and Lady for coming to help. What a great family we have.....
Yes we had a great time and a very good turn out for our Trike In, I personally feel very bad about the accident. None of us has so many friends that we can afford to lose one. Linda will have a long road to recovery, I know from experience as I have traveled that road a couple times my self. We will keep her in our prayers. We had an excellent turn out. There were 14 trikes in the ride and several more that stayed behind, I was told there were 39 folks there but an accurate count (sign in sheet) wasn't made (oops on my part) Thanks to all that came, we did have several guests and it is always fun to meet new folks and look at more different trikes.
Thanks to everyone.. I would ask that you all keep Allen and Linda in your prayers. They will be sore for a long time and Linda will probably have to have therapy to learn to walk again. Just a guess.. It was a great turnout for the trike in..
