Used to be pretty good slot car runner myself. Kept me broke all time. But that was 40 or so years ago. Still had a few of my old cars not long ago. Sold them just to get them out of the way. Still have my train set. runs like new. Need to get it out and run it..  Hey them was the good old days.  Not knocking the RC racers. Have a few of them to.  Would like to get a real good RC helicopter, had one.  Still in a tree. HA! HA!. Hey I used to fly the real thing in nam. Wern't to many trees to worry about over there.  To get to the main reason i'm here. Where are all the specks on these V. C. racers. A Picture would be nice to. Ya know, just an idea what one looks like. Well old rachet jaw is gonna get off this thing and give Paw some time. I could be on this thing all night and really not say, anything.  So bye now. WTB3

UPS delivered 10 valve covers yesterday. I already have two up on wheels. Now if I would just quit changing the design, I would be in good shape. But what fun would it be to build 10 that all looked alike? Wonder how one would look with wide whitewalls?

No problem with speed traps, we don't allow them around here. Lets see if we can get several individuals building racers and maybe a few from each chapter can build one to represent the chapter, hummm... R66T vs. OMT, winning chapter get bragging rights. Yeah Jim, short lives on rewound motors but Faaasst.

Hot Rod - I remember slot cars quite well. Used to really enjoy messing with them. I think there was a slot car track in about every town at one time.  I remember when Galesburg Illinois even had a drag strip for them complete with a Christmas tree. Amazing what you can do by rewinding a little electric motor, like shorten it's life span considerably (smile).

Good, I have mine up on three now and so far it is in the rattiest of the rat class. Greasy old chevy rocker cover with a couple different colors on it ( I used it to cover the valves while painting the engine) I does run down the hill on my street pretty good but I want it faster, It will be 9 lbs 14 oz when I'm done (certified postal scale)

Come on readers - lets get that racer built, I'm not gonna let up on you guys, I was a pretty good slot car racer in my day - HA! how many of you know what a slot car track is????

Just got the newsletter and saw you challange to everyone to build a valve cover racer for next year. Hope we can spark some enthusiasm. By the way, great job on the newsletter as usual. Thanks for issuing the challange. Just for the record, High Tower's racer is in a different class than mine and he won this class, I beat him in the "overall" competition. He couldn't beat me on the best day he ever had (smile). Us bloody Yanks have been beating the Brits for years. Besides I have been storing his racer for 4 years now. Every year I igure out a new way to slow it down that isn't too obvious. Amazing what a little sand in the bearings will do.
